At Carolina Comfort Air, giving back to the communities we serve isn’t just something we talk about — it’s part of who we are. That commitment is proudly reflected in our recent $30,000 donation to Johnston Community College (JCC), supporting both student scholarships and the continued growth of the college’s HVAC program.
Our leadership team recently met with President Dr. David Lindquist and the Johnston Community College Foundation to formally present the donation and celebrate this meaningful partnership. We were honored to share this moment together and grateful for the opportunity to highlight the impact this gift will have on future students.
Supporting the Next Generation of HVAC Professionals
Of the total donation, $10,000 has been designated to directly support the JCC HVAC Program, which is led by Wayne Harding and his team. These funds will help strengthen hands-on training opportunities, resources, and education for students preparing to enter the HVAC industry — an industry that plays a vital role in keeping our communities comfortable, safe, and efficient.
The remaining $20,000 was contributed to Carolina Comfort Air’s existing endowed scholarship fund at JCC, further reinforcing our long-standing commitment to helping students pursue education without financial barriers. This endowed fund continues to provide scholarships year after year, creating a lasting impact well beyond a single donation.
A Full-Circle Moment for Carolina Comfort Air
This donation is especially meaningful because Carolina Comfort Air President, Phillip Tyler, is a proud graduate of Johnston Community College. Phillip’s journey through JCC helped lay the foundation for his career and leadership, making this investment a full-circle moment for our company.
“Johnston Community College played an important role in my own education and career path,” Phillip shared. “Being able to give back — especially to programs that prepare students for skilled trades — is something I’m incredibly proud of.”
A Shared Commitment to Education and Community
We’re grateful to Dr. Lindquist, the JCC Foundation, and the HVAC program leadership for their partnership and dedication to student success.
At Carolina Comfort Air, we believe investing in education is investing in the future of our industry and our community. This donation represents our continued promise to support workforce development, skilled trades, and the students who will become tomorrow’s technicians, leaders, and innovators.
